TRON DAO recently stepped up to the plate at a big meeting in Vienna. The event, called the 9th Global Conference on Criminal Finances and Cryptoassets, was all about fighting crime in the crypto world. Europol, the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), and the Basel Institute on Governance put this together. They invited big shots from different fields to talk about how to stop criminals from using crypto for bad stuff like money laundering and drug trafficking.
On the first day, John Hurston from TRON DAO joined a panel discussion. The topic was about how companies and governments can work together to seize illegal crypto assets. The panel was led by Alejandro Pérez from Europol. Other experts like Leonardo Real from Tether and Dr. Bruno Requião da Cunha from TRM Labs also shared their thoughts. They talked about the T3 Financial Crime Unit (T3 FCU), a team created by TRON, Tether, and TRM Labs to fight crypto crime. Hurston said the unit is successful because it brings the right people together to tackle problems in real-time.
The T3 FCU has been busy since it started in September 2024. It has worked with police all over the world to track down and stop criminal activities. The unit has checked millions of transactions across five continents, keeping an eye on over $3 billion USD. This helps them spot and stop crimes as they happen, making it a valuable tool for law enforcement.
By joining this conference, TRON DAO showed it is serious about working with law enforcement and regulators. Their goal is to make the digital asset world more transparent and trustworthy. TRON DAO is all about making the internet more decentralized using blockchain technology. It was founded in 2017 and has grown a lot since then. The TRON blockchain is known for handling a lot of USD Tether (USDT) stablecoin transactions. As of October 2025, it has over 341 million user accounts and more than $25 billion in total value locked.
