President Trump is back in the UK for another big visit. This time, he's bringing along his wife, Melania. They touched down at Stansted Airport and then took a helicopter to central London. They're staying at a fancy place called Winfield House, which is the US ambassador's home. Tomorrow, Trump is set to meet King Charles III at Windsor Castle. The next day, he's heading to Chequers, the prime minister's country retreat, to meet Keir Starmer. This is a big deal because Trump is the first US president to get a second state visit to the UK. Before heading to Winfield House, Trump thanked the US ambassador for "doing a great job. " He also mentioned that tomorrow is going to be a "very big day, " probably because of his meeting with the King. He also talked about some special places in the UK that "warm his heart, " like Turnberry in Scotland, where he owns a golf course. Winfield House is a historic place. It was built in 1938 and was donated to the US government after World War II. It's a big property with a lot of American art inside. Trump has some personal ties to the UK. His mom was from Scotland, and he owns two golf courses there. But not everyone in Scotland likes him. A recent poll showed that seven out of ten Scots have an unfavorable opinion of him. Trump has been talking about his visit for a while. He said it's a "great, great honor" to be invited by the King. He also mentioned that he's a friend of King Charles and has great respect for the royal family. He even called the King "my friend" and said he's "such an elegant gentleman. " Security is tight for this visit. There are police boats on the Thames, snipers, and drones. Two men were even arrested for flying drones in restricted airspace. There won't be any public events during Trump's visit. There was some hope for a deal to eliminate tariffs on UK steel exports to the US, but it's been put on hold. Currently, there are 25% tariffs on UK steel exports to the US. Trump said he's "into helping" Britain fine-tune the trade deal, but nothing has been agreed on yet.
