And sometimes, his distractions backfire. For example, he invited a former football player who is a sex offender to an event. That didn't look good. Finally, Trump and his team have tried to share some information. But that hasn't helped either. They released footage from the jail where Epstein died, but it was edited. They interviewed Maxwell, but that just led to more questions. And Trump's refusal to rule out pardoning her didn't help. Trump has said he didn't know about Epstein's crimes. But he knew Epstein liked young women. And there are reports that they had a falling out over a woman who accused Epstein of trafficking. Trump's denials and lawsuits are making things worse. He's not convincing people he's hiding nothing.
