Ukraine's Health Shift and Vaccine Trust

People in the study said they link how much they trust vaccines to how much they trust the government and the health service. When the state looks weak, families doubt the shots. When trust drops, vaccination rates can fall, putting children at risk.

Corruption and poor governance made trust fall. But recent reforms that added more accountability and let patients choose providers helped rebuild confidence. These reforms also gave patients more say in their care, which boosted confidence in the system.

The 2022 full‑scale invasion broke many health services, yet it also sparked a stronger sense of civic duty toward public health. The findings show that rebuilding trust is key for vaccine uptake and for health policy in fragile nations. The study suggests that rebuilding trust could help Ukraine recover its health services after the war.
