Understanding Spiritual Needs in Turkish Cancer Patients

In Turkiye, people face cancer in different ways. Their beliefs and culture shape how they deal with it. Spirituality plays a big role in this. It helps them cope with such a tough disease. But, there are not many tools to measure these spiritual needs in Turkish patients. A recent study tried to change that. They took a tool called The Spiritual Needs Assessment for Patients scale. The goal was to make it work for Turkish cancer patients. They wanted to see if it could really measure spiritual needs in this group. First, they translated the tool into Turkish. Then, they tested it on cancer patients. They checked if the tool was reliable and valid. The results showed that it could indeed measure spiritual needs in Turkish patients. This is a big deal. It means doctors and nurses can now better understand what patients need. They can provide better care. It also shows that spirituality is important in healthcare. It's not just about the body.
