Columbia has seen barely any rain this month, with only a hint of moisture recorded so far. If this dry trend continues, October could set a new record as the driest month ever. The last time the city experienced significant rain was way back on September 27, thanks to Hurricane Helene.
The weather will remain warm and sunny over the next few days. Today, temperatures will climb back up to the upper 70s or close to 80 degrees. Halloween will be unusually warm, with highs in the lower 80s under partly cloudy skies. Spring-like conditions are expected on the first day of November, with temperatures hovering around the lower 80s. However, a cool front is expected to roll in later, dropping temperatures a bit for the weekend.
Yesterday brought mostly cloudy and mild conditions, with highs reaching the upper 60s and lower 70s. Columbia hit a high of 71 degrees, with just a tiny bit of rain at the airport. The forecast for Saturday and Sunday looks similar, with temperatures dipping to the middle 70s mid-week. Election Day might bring some rain, but it will likely be scattered showers.
