In Los Angeles and Ventura counties, a severe warning called "particularly dangerous situation" is in place from Tuesday dawn to Wednesday noon. This is the first time since 2024 the National Weather Service has issued this alert. Wind speeds could reach up to 70 mph, with relative humidity as low as 5%. Preparations include reinforcing fire lines, clearing brush, and staging resources. The Palisades and Eaton fires have already claimed 24 lives and destroyed thousands of structures. Firefighters from Mexico have also joined the efforts. A conventional Santa Ana wind is expected this time, unlike the mountain wave wind that caused last week's devastation. Despite the upcoming danger, a period of less severe weather is forecast from Thursday. The California National Guard is adding 1, 000 more members to the fight, making it 2, 500 in total by Monday.
