When we talk about rest and taking a break, its not a new concept. We all know that when we are tired we don't do our best work. But how can we add the Sabbath into our lives? Doctors are busy and can't just stop and rest when they want. They have to take care of lots of other people. Most doctors aren't able to follow the traditional Sabbath rules. Instead, they can take elements of the Sabbath and make it work for them. The Sabbath day is about relaxation and taking time to recharge. The Sabbath engages us to take time to reflect and find joy in the time we have. People who use these Sabbath elements find that this helps with the stress of their busy lives. The concept is to engage and recharge don;t let the rush of the day consume you. Many say that this remedy is helpful in our fast paced world. But what does this 'Sabbath' look like in real life? We need to find ways to bring this idea of rest and reflection into our lives. We need to take time for ourselves. We need to spend time with our family and do things we love. This time is what helps us be at our best. This time is what helps us be happy. This rest time is what keeps us healthy. This rest time is what keeps us from stress and anxiety. The Sabbath is about serving ourselves so we can serve others
