Senator Chris Murphy from Connecticut made a strong statement about the upcoming release of documents related to Jeffrey Epstein. He believes that the files will likely include names from both major political parties, but he thinks people should focus on the facts, not the politics.
When asked if Democrats might be in these documents, Murphy responded with a casual "So what? " He pointed out that the documents could have names of Democrats, Republicans, and even business leaders who aren't involved in politics. The main goal, he said, is to find out who was involved in Epstein's crimes, not to play the blame game.
Murphy didn't hold back when talking about President Trump. He suggested that Trump might try to hide any information about himself in the documents. "The law is the law, " Murphy said. "They need to release the files. " Trump has denied any wrongdoing related to Epstein, but his name has come up in emails released by a House committee.
Last week, Murphy accused Trump of being worried about more mentions of him in the files. He even said that any confirmed connection between Trump and Epstein would be a huge scandal. Trump, on the other hand, has tried to shift attention to Democrats, saying that Epstein had ties to prominent Democrats and had donated to their campaigns.
Attorney General Pam Bondi has 30 days to release the full set of records. The law allows for some redactions to protect victims and ongoing investigations.
