Grace O'Malley, the former Barstool Sports employee, revealed that she made $250, 000 a year while working at the company. This came to light after her interview with Theo Von on the "This Past Weekend" podcast. O'Malley mentioned that her salary was "decent" but not close to half a million, as Von had suggested. She also compared her salary to her friend Brianna Chickenfry, who made significantly more. Dave Portnoy, the founder of Barstool Sports, later clarified on TikTok that O'Malley's base salary was $175, 000, and she earned an additional $75, 000 from social media ads, bringing her total salary to $250, 000. Portnoy defended the salary, saying it was fair and good. However, O'Malley left the company due to personal issues with Chickenfry, despite being offered a lucrative deal to start her own podcast with Barstool. Portnoy expressed disappointment with the implication that he doesn't pay his employees fairly, emphasizing that many have been with the company for over a decade.
