Yorkville Solar Event Lets Residents Save on Electricity Without Home Panels

The Kendall County Health Department is hosting a community solar enrollment event on September 3. The doors open at nine in the morning and stay open until noon. The gathering will be held at the health center located at 811 West John Street in Yorkville, Illinois.

Community solar provides a clever solution for lowering monthly power bills. Participants do not have to install solar panels on their own property to access these benefits. In other words, clean energy becomes available without any construction work or upfront investment.

Residents who were helped by LIHEAP last year may already possess the required documents to qualify. To find out if you fit the criteria, please bring your ComEd electricity bill to the event for staff review.

This local effort demonstrates how government agencies can encourage green living habits. By removing barriers to solar adoption, the county hopes to save money and protect the environment for everyone involved.
