China's true feelings about the Ukraine war might be more complicated than they seem. Behind closed doors, Chinese officials have hinted that they don't want Russia to lose. Why? Because if Russia loses, the U. S. might focus more on China. This is a big deal because China has been saying it's neutral in the conflict. This news came out after a long meeting between China's Foreign Minister Wang Yi and the EU's top diplomat, Kaja Kallas. They talked about lots of things, like cybersecurity, trade, and Taiwan. But the most interesting part was what Wang said privately. It seems China might want the war to drag on. That way, the U. S. stays busy and doesn't focus too much on China. China says it wants peace in Ukraine. But their actions tell a different story. Just before Russia invaded Ukraine, China's leader Xi Jinping said they had a "no limits" partnership with Russia. Since then, they've gotten even closer. China has also been accused of helping Russia with drone parts and missile technology. Ukraine has even sanctioned some Chinese companies because of this. China says it's not involved in the war. But there's evidence that Chinese nationals are fighting in Ukraine. China denies this, of course. They say they don't want their citizens involved in any military actions. But it's hard to believe when there's so much evidence to the contrary. The war in Ukraine is about more than just Ukraine and Russia. It's about China, the U. S. , and the whole world. China's actions show that they're playing a big game of chess. And they're not just playing for Russia. They're playing for themselves too.
